Love Struck reggae music CD album mp3

Love Struck (LBM, 1993?)

This is easily one of the worst reggae albums I've ever heard.  I suppose the cheesy photos on the cover and back should've tipped me off, but unlike Rohit Records, which makes it obvious that they spend about a nickel on packaging, these people seemed like they actually tried. But nothing in the quality of the tunes shows effort.  Now, I can understand if the songs aren't good (and they aren't), but you'd think that for a guy to have an album, he'd be able to sing.  Well, Robert Minott proves that assumption wrong.  Certainly, reggae artists aren't known for their superb singing voices, but listening to Minott in songs like "Let's Chill" is just painful, even for my tin ear.  The music on this album is a bit better, but poppy dance numbers like "You're Driving Me Crazy" wear thin quickly.  Minott has a remarkable penchant for ruining good songs, with awful remakes of "Loving You" and the aforementioned "Let's Chill."  Still, the best songs are remakes -- "Just My Imagination" and "Rain From the Sky."  Of course, "best" is a relative term, as these tunes are average at best.  The truly baffling part of Love Struck is that there are quality people involved with it, like Sly Dunbar, Clevie Browne, Computer Paul, Dean Fraser, J.C. Lodge, and Pam Hall.  You definitely can't tell by the output, though.  Love Stunk is a more appropriate name.
